COUPONS AND DISCOUNTS
As I am about to embark on another of the LeBeau saga (as my Mother would called it). I have
been fortunate enough to own a little piece of paradise to share with family & friends. Since I moved to this
wonderful island more than 13 years ago, I have had the opportunity to run a successful
restaurant/bar (Life’s A
Beach), meet a crazy Bostonian (the stud) aren’t they all, had two gorgeous kids, and met some unbelievable people.
I know if you take just a moment to relax by the water (without your cell phone) you will be surprised how
the island really will talk to you. I know it sounds weird but it’s true.
I have put together a package of things that have allowed me to enjoy the island to the fullest, that I would like to share with you.
I must start with the package from Life’s A Beach. Howy, or Haui (get it?) the new owner has agreed to buy everyone over 21 a $1.00 Mai Tai during happy hour plus one of the best nacho plates in town for your table upon your arrival. This place is a must on your things to do, live music at happy hour to some of the best local sounds for late night music will keep that aloha real, and the staff… the always best.
On to the water, don’t miss diving it if you
have the guts. It took a lot of talking into but
Doug (Shaka Divers) was patient, and I mean years of patient. Finally, on my 1st dive as I probably cut all
circulation in his hand off. I have to chalk it up as by far one of my favorite experiences in Maui. It is worth
every penny you spend, and no mater how scared you are or out of your element you may be, make this a must do on
your vacation package.
The close runner up to the dive experience is on the water not in it (sorta), and that is done best by Jeffrey & his family at The big Kahuna, from surfing to kayaking & everything in between (snorkel gear, boogie boards, paddle boards) they are right across the beach and next to Life’s A Beach. They even deliver if you have a car that can’t carry your gear. SSSSSWWWWWWEEEETTTT!
On to the food, to munch on at the beach, home or the drive to Hana or Haleakala, my long time friend Ann at “Who Cut The Cheese” is the place to go, my personal fav is the Gouda but as I have learned in the 5 years she has been doing business… all of it is yummy. Plus, she has spices, wine, bread, crackers, salts, sausages, oils and on & on. She even offers this cool jet setter when you head home, so you don’t have to torture yourself with airplane food.
For breakfast, though I have no discounts on this, I must recommend it. Since the food is
already
reasonable priced & the view is the best. The Sea Watch, mmm the French toast! I am sure gonna miss it.
I know you always hear about Mama’s but I have to disagree. For the price, quality, the family experience and again the view, The Waterfront! If I tried to tell you how wonderful this place is it would take up my whole website, so all I can say is be sure to order the Caesar salad, if you like fish, eat fish cause it’s “wow” & don’t miss dessert! Be sure to tell Gary & Rick, Hi or Howdy (more on that later).
Last, but not least. Sunday Brunch at the Prince, the Maui Prince that is. There are no discounts on this either but for the experience of the grinds & champagne it’s worth the $60.00 bucks. Make reservations and come hungry and the champagne is included! Be sure you stop buy my friend (Lana’s) jewelry table, she has the best taste in the island flare & it is worth just the trip even if you don’t do Brunch. The beach there is beautiful & a great place to see the turtles & whales during the season.
So there you have it, the best of the best. There is so much that is great on this island that I am sure you will find your best of the best. As we head off to Texas to buy a horse, our hearts will be with you here in Maui so enjoy our home and island make it your own & keep me posted on what you find new to add to the best of the best.
